Here are a few pictures from todays RSL practice. Kyle Beckerman was running but did not practice with full team. Robbie Russell looked great in practice I predict a good showing from him tomorrow if he plays.

First Home Game and Section 26 homebrew comp.
After two road games RSL finally was able to play in Rio Tinto for the first time this season and the fans were more then ready. While result left something wanting everyone had a good time. I should remind you that on Friday I predicted that Will Johnson would have a great game and the Canadian came though with an excellent header to level the score at 1-1.
Back to the fans; as early as 3pm there were about 60 fans in the tailgate lot southwest of the stadium. It was quite the sight to behold hopefully this trend well continue all year. Its easy to say must people were partaking in tailgating for Section 26's Homebrew contest now in its second year.
the contest had 10 beer entered with a few unofficial ones for testing.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying the beer and the sun.
A change for this year is the return of Real Salt Lake's oldest supporter group, The Loyalists, to the the lot for tailgating. Welcome back.
I didn't see the La Barra or Union Real at the tailgate. I well ask around to see if they have changed lots and for what reason.
Unfortunately I was unable to get any pictures of the Supporters Groups in the stands do to dealing with issues with my own supporters group before the game. if you want pictures of the fans in the stands visit rslsoapbox.com for an excellent collection of photos from all the local groups and the visiting Seattle fans.
Something I am starting this year is a Supporter Group of the Match to highlight the Group I felt Supported the team the best. For this match it is undoubtedly Section 26 for organizing the excellent homebrew contest.

RSL Practice Report 4/10
With the Real Salt Lake's home opener just a day away I went down to the Riot to watch practice. Here are a few photos(not the best photos since I grabbed the wrong lens) and a few observations from practice.
The full south end is still set up which well be nice for supporters tomorrow.
The field looks to be in okay shape I noticed a couple of patch of fresh sod.
The Practice was much more intense and lasted roughly an hour and a half. I was happy to note that Will Johnson was looking very sharp. I predict that tomorrows game could be his best of the season.
The highlight of the practice happened at the end of practice when Kyle Beckerman and the team got to make a child's wish come true. The Make-a-wish foundation brought 6 year old Jonah to practice in order to meet his hero Kyle. It was truly a touching moment watching Kyle run around the field with him. Afterwards Chris Wingert Invited Jonah to the team meeting.

RSL vs. Fire Sept. 12th
Here are some of photos of supporters putting on a show at the game. Sorry Section 26 didn't get up to the north end this game.

After a disapointing first half that saw the boys from Utah drop a goal to the Fire. Olave was able to top prove that me might have the best first touch that RSL with a fantisic break away goal. The south end supporters felt more celebratory

Following RSL to Seattle
I caught a early mourning flight from Salt Lake to Seattle that put at Sea-tac at around 10 in the mourning and set off for my hotel via bus. after dropping my luggage at the hotel I set off on a walk to the Seattle Center where I had tickets to see a show at Seattle Rep. Getting there with time to kill I decided to kill at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. Which was a great way to pass the time. Some of the displays on what Science Fiction is and what it is about came off a little basic to me but I have a feeling that they were great to people with less knowledge on the subject.
From there I went up to Seattle Rep and watched The Seafarer which I thought was great. I loved the way the play worked you see the gears turning and build and shifting to create the story.
After that I went back to the hotel where I made a quick change of clothes and set off to meet up with RSL fans for dinner at the Pyramid. After getting to the bar it took me forever to find to RSL fans because it was packed with seattle fans.
After waiting for awhile to get a table the group was shown to a private room which had an a great veiw of Safeco Field which I was all for as a Mariners fan
After a quick dinner as game time was getting ever closer the whole group of us set out for qwest chanting and singing. It is the closest I have experience to the party on the streets of Florence after Italy won the world cup. The support that Seattle fans that showed for their team gives me hope for the future of soccer in North America hopefully some day the riot well be filed with that much passion. This amazing support continued in the stadium. Most of the Seattle Fans were passionate yet respective of the traveling fans, with the exception of the asshole that ripped down one of my banners. It was a shame that the boys in Claret and Cobalt could not put a few in the net and ended up losing.
After the game Seattle and RSL fans met in the concourse and traded scarfs.
After that I split off from the RSL fans and made my way to back to my hotel. I stopped to ask a sounders fan where I could get food and we went on and on about this place called 13 coins. I said I could walk there but he won't stop until he called me a cab. So off I went in a cab and ended up the resturant which to his credit was excellent. After that I heading back to the hotel on foot and called it a night.
Sunday I woke up feeling all the walking i did the day before. I checked out from my hotel and set off to Pikes Place market. I had an excellent breakfast over looking pudget sound and picked up some art work. After spending the Afternoon at the Seattle Art Museum I head back to Salt Lake.
